To Love and Serve with Joy
About the school
St Joseph’s is a Catholic primary school and pre-school in the heart of Pontefract for children aged three to eleven. Ofsted judged the school Good in every area, including early years, in April 2024, and the Catholic Schools Inspectorate judged it Good in all areas in November 2023. Forest School, specialist sports coaching, swimming and cycling earned the School Games Mark Gold Award; music includes instrumental tuition and the Diocese of Leeds Singing Programme, and the curriculum draws on the town’s mining and agricultural heritage. The school’s mission is to love and serve with joy. Pre-school places for three-year-olds, breakfast club and after-school care are available.
“Pupils enjoy learning in this vibrant and caring school.”
