Growing in God’s Love
About the school
St John the Baptist is a Catholic primary school and pre-school in Normanton for children aged three to eleven. Ofsted judged the school Good in November 2023, and in January 2025 the Catholic Schools Inspectorate judged it Good overall with Outstanding Catholic Life and Mission. Wellbeing days, outdoor learning, a sensory room and a boat-shaped library give the school a distinctive feel, and pupils lead as Mini Vinnies, Chaplaincy Team, Sports Leaders and School and Eco Councils, with residentials and an Aspirations Week through the year. Pre-school places for three-year-olds, breakfast club and after-school club are available.
“There is a strong sense of community at the school. Pupils are happy and safe.”
