Building a place to flourish through faith and learning
About the school
St Ignatius is a small Catholic primary school and pre-school in Ossett, serving its community since 1883. Attainment by the end of Key Stage 2 is consistently above national expectations, and in June 2025 the Catholic Schools Inspectorate judged the school Outstanding. Music is a particular strength, with choirs, bands and instrumental tuition, and pupils take the lead through Mission Teams including Catholic Life Leaders, Mini Vinnies and Laudato Si’ Leaders. Classes are named after the saints of the North. Pre-school places for three-year-olds, breakfast club from 7.30am and after-school club until 5.30pm are available.
“This is a school at the heart of its community. Staff provide a caring and nurturing environment for pupils.”
