About the school
St John Fisher is an 11–18 Catholic voluntary academy in Dewsbury with around 1,000 students and a sixth form offering a mainly A level curriculum. The school joined the Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust in 2025 and is on a journey of rapid improvement: Ofsted in March 2025 judged behaviour, personal development and the sixth form Good, and in December 2025 the Catholic Schools Inspectorate judged the school Good overall with Outstanding Catholic Life and Mission. Students benefit from a wide range of clubs, a chapel at the heart of school life and the SJF Sports Centre with its 3G pitch and sports hall. The school’s CARE values – Commitment, Aspiration, Respect and Excellence – shape daily life.
“Pupils feel safe and happy at this welcoming, and rapidly improving, school.”
