Helen Utting

Foundation Trustee

“I am a retired university lecturer and registered nurse with wide experience of higher education, professional practice, research and management consultancy. I am a practicing Roman Catholic and a parishioner at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Selby. I have been a primary school governor almost continuously since 2007 and a high school governor since 2017. During that time, I have undertaken a number of responsibilities including Chair, Vice-Chair, finance, safeguarding, Pupil Premium and link governor. If you can name it, I have probably done it. I really like it as I enjoy meeting the children and young people and their families as well as supporting staff and Headteachers to maintain and develop schools to benefit everyone. Helping schools has been one of the highlights of my life. I am a loving and interested aunt, great aunt and godmother (age range 4-47!), who are resident in and outside the UK.”
