The ‘Where is God?’ Art Competition

Earlier this year, children from across our Trust took part in Wakefield SACRE’s spirited art competition, responding to the theme of ‘Where is God?’.

 

Children from Holy Family & St Michael’s Pontefract, St Ignatius Ossett, St John the Baptist Normanton, St Joseph’s Castleford and St Joseph’s Pontefract Catholic Primary Schools and St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School & Sixth Form College, Featherstone used mixed media of their choice to explore and express their thoughts and reflections through art.

Children were asked to ponder over key questions such as:

  • Whether God could be found in their heart, in prayer, in church or somewhere in the universe?
  • Given how important looking and searching for God is, how are we doing in terms of finding God?
  • Can God be found by prayer or by looking among the world’s suffering people?
