The Academy Council of Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, A Voluntary Academy on behalf of the Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated School Caretaker. This is a key role in maintaining the school site to ensure a welcoming, attractive, safe and secure school environment for the whole school community.
Duties will include:
• Lock/unlock school buildings and areas.
• Set security alarm and other security systems where applicable.
• Undertake/assist with the receipt, distribution, collection and dispatch of goods.
• Undertake/assist with repairs.
• Undertake activities to maintain a safe and clean internal and external environment (e.g.
checking the functioning of toilets, litter picking, removal of rubbish bags, clearing autumn
leaves, sweeping paths, maintaining safe and clear paths in cold weather).
• Ensuring site checks are regular.
• Undertake routine maintenance, health and safety checks, playground checks as required.
• Supervise the cleaners in their cleaning duties and support when needed, with deep cleans
during the holidays.
• Regular stockcheck of cleaning products and washroom items.
• Recording tasks and reports on the EVERY system (training will be provided)
Other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as directed by the Headteacher
We are looking for someone who has excellent DIY skills to ensure the security and safety of the school premises and grounds. You should be able to work using your own initiative and manage your own workload, whilst being flexible to meet the school’s needs. You must be able to carry out a range of small repairs and advise when large repairs are needed. Some work may be required during the school holidays for tasks such as decorating or allowing contractors to access site. A willingness to undertake safeguarding training and other relevant CPD is also required.
In accordance with the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009, if you are shortlisted for this post you will be required to declare that you are not Disqualified (or Disqualified by Association) from working within this setting.
