Breakfast and after school club assistant

The Governing Body at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic, well- motivated and adaptable Breakfast and Afterschool Club Assistant to assist in providing wraparound care for pupils. St Mary’s is a hard- working, friendly school which has a very good reputation. We are looking to add to our strong, caring team “Loving, Laughing and Learning in the Light of the Lord”.

Contract: Permanent contract

Hours: 10.5 hours per week, Term time only

Salary: Grade C- £9.43 p/h (FTE £18,198 per annum)

We are looking for someone who has:

  • an awareness of child/young people’s development
  • good communication skills, to build relationships with adults and children
  • enthusiasm and interest in working with children
  • knowledge of food hygiene (training can take place after appointment if needed)
  • willingness to work as part of a team to provide quality wraparound care for the pupils of St. Mary’s

Key duties will include:

  • Help prepare food and activities for the children attending the club
  • Support pupils while eating snacks, making sure tables are clean and water is available
  • Ensure school policies are implemented in the breakfast and after school club
  • Work as part of a team to lead suitable games and activities ensuring inclusion for all pupils
  • Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with parents and carers
  • Work with the club supervisor to ensure a safe, inclusive club is maintained
