Year 11 students celebrate GCSE results
St Thomas a Becket’s GCSE success consolidated again this year
Staff and students celebrated at St Thomas a Becket Catholic secondary school as the class of 2015 matched the excellent results of 2014. 60% hit the headline figure of 5 A*-C with English and maths but with an increase in A* grades and numbers of students making 4 levels or better than expected progress smashing national equivalents. Individual GCSE subjects really shone with over 80% producing better A*-C grades than in 2014.
John Rooney, Principal, paid tribute to the 152 boys and girls who sat a very traditional GCSE course of study under the careful guidance of his staff, many of whom attended results day to celebrate with their students.
“We are very happy with the grades our children have achieved ; a product of true partnership working between well-prepared and focussed students taught by dedicated and expert staff backed by very supportive and trusting parents.”
