Teacher Training through School Direct

Train to Teach through School Direct with The Diocese of Leeds BKCAT Alliance

About Teacher Training With Us

The Diocese of Leeds BKCAT Alliance offers the opportunity to train to teach alongside serving outstanding teachers in a scheme overseen by St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School & Sixth Form College, a Leading Edge school.

St Wilfrid’s was involved in School Direct in partnership with Hallam TSA and has now expanded into a large School Direct partnership working with 16 schools across Primary and Secondary phases. Training with the Diocese of Leeds BKCAT Alliance can therefore be tailored to your needs and the type of school you are drawn to with experience available in a range of settings. All the schools are committed to playing a significant role in training up their own future teachers as part of this collaborative network.

St Wilfrid’s has a national reputation as an award winning school which makes it an ideal leader of our innovative approach to school based teacher training.

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Pontefract leads the primary aspect of the Diocese of Leeds BKCAT Alliance offering opportunities to train in an environment described by OFSTED as ‘exciting and challenging’ alongside outstanding practitioners. The school was graded by OFSTED as outstanding in all areas.

Our alliance Schools are mainly located in West Yorkshire around Wakefield, Leeds and Dewsbury and North Yorkshire around Harrogate. A full list of our partner schools can be seen on the St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School & Sixth form College(Featherstone)and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School (Pontefract) websites and Leeds Trinity University’s website has profiles of all our schools.
